2. Due to the weakness of our flesh, no one can be saved by their efforts at keeping the works of the Law.

a. None of us has ever kept God’s Law in a way that is acceptable to him, Gal. 3.10-12.

b. The Law is a closed system. Not to obey God’s Law in even the smallest measure is to become guilty of it all, James 2.10-11.

C. The Word of God convicts and produces broken godly remorse, opening up the hearer to God’s gospel truth.
