Please take as much time as you have available to answer these and other questions that the video brought out about the Word of God’s ability to convict of sin, righteousness, and judgment. Be clear and concise in your answers, and where possible, support with Scripture! 1. How are we to understand the relationship between the Holy Spirit and the Holy Scriptures? Is it valid to say that the Spirit’s ministry operates, among other ways, through the Word of God, which is inspired by God’s very own breath? 2. In what ways do the Scriptures convict the world of sin? How are we to understand sin as a concept in the Old Testament? What about this same concept through the New Testament? 3. Describe the four aspects of righteousness discussed in the Scriptures? Why is it critical to understand these different aspects when speaking of the Word of God’s ability to convict the world of righteousness? 4. In what way does God’s righteousness become our own, imputed (given) to us by God himself? 5. How does the Word of God describe God’s intention to judge humankind? On what basis will God judge all people everywhere, according to the Scriptures? 6. List some of the groups and entities God intends on bringing ultimately to judgment? What do we learn about God through Scripture’s teaching regarding his intent to judge all the world? 7. How does the Word of God actually convict the world of judgment? What is the relationship between God’s judgments in the world and the Gospel of Jesus Christ?
