C O N V E R S I O N A N D C A L L I N G

D. A final inward sign of conversion relates to the ability to listen to Jesus Christ and follow him . New believers recognize and follow the voice of the Savior.

1. Those who know him will listen to his voice and will not follow the voice of strangers , John 10.1-6.

2. Fellowship with God is based on continuing to walk in the light , and receiving cleansing through the blood for sin in one’s life, 1 John 1.5-10.

3. Those who belong to God desire to follow God and seek ways to respond rightly to his spoken and revealed will, 1 John 2.3-6.

II. The Word of God Produces in the Christian Outward Signs of Salvation Which Provide Evidence of Authentic Repentance and Faith.

A. A strong association and identification with other Christians - with the people of God as their new family and kinfolk.

1. God’s Word is a seed which produces “new birth” into the family of God .

a. Unless we are born from above by the “water” and the Spirit, we cannot enter the Kingdom of God.

b. The Word of God is the “ seed ” and “ engrafted word ” which produces in us the new birth, James 1.18, 21.
