b. John 16.2 – They will put you out of the synagogues. Indeed, the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God.

2. Tougher, rougher examination: “Give glory to God. We know that this man is a sinner, ” 9.24.

3. A shrewd answer: “Whether he is a sinner or not, I don’t know. One thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see! ,” 9.25.

4. An inability to hear the truth: listening to only what they wanted to hear , 9.26

5. The blind man antes up: I’ve told you – you don’t listen! Do y’all want to be his disciples, too?! , 9.27.

6. Draped in the words of Moses, the Pharisees reject Jesus’ origins, 9.28-29.

7. The blind man-turned-theologian: he breaks it down for them, 9.30-33.

a. You don’t know where he’s from and yet he’s opened my eyes, 9.30.

b. God doesn’t listen to sinners, but only to obedient worshipers of God, 9.31.

c. Since the world began no one has opened the eyes of somebody born blind, 9.32.
