2. The many-roomed house of the Father and Jesus’ preparations of our future address, 14.2

a. Our earthly tent, 2 Cor. 5.1 – For we know that if the tent, which is our earthly home, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

b. 1 Thess. 5.9 – For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

c. Heb. 11.10 – For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God.

d. Heb. 13.14 – For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.

e. Rev. 21.10-11 – And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great, high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God, [11] having the glory of God, its radiance like a most rare jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal.

3. The strong logic of the Cosmic Carpenter: If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, 14.3.

a. John 14.18 – I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

b. Acts 1.11 – and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”
