The Gospe l of John
a. He will take what is mine.
b. And what of mine that he has taken, he will declare it to you.
4. Jesus as the heir of the Father: All that the Father has is mine , 16.15.
a. Jesus as the heir of the Father (cf. Ps. 2.6-9 – “As for me, I have set my King on Zion, my holy hill.” [7] I will tell of the decree: The Lord said to me, “You are my Son; today I have begotten you. [8] Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession. [9] You shall break them with a rod of iron and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”
b. Matt. 28.18 – And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”
c. Heb. 1.2 – but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.
d. John 16.15 – All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you.
e. Rom. 8.17 – and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.
