3. The prayer that they might be one, 17.11

a. I am coming to you ; I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world.

b. Holy Father, keep them in your name , which you have given me.

4. The security of those who belong to Jesus, 17.12-13

a. While I was in the world, I guarded them and kept them, not one is lost except the son of destruction , in order that the Scripture might be fulfilled, 17.12.

b. But now I am coming to you , and I speak these things that my joy might be fulfilled in them, 17.13.

D. The relationship of his own disciples and the world system ( kosmos ), 17.14-19

1. I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of this world , 17.14.

2. I do not ask that you to take them out of the world , but keep them from the evil one , 17.15.

3. The heart of the matter: They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world, 17.16.

4. Sanctify them in your Word , your Word is truth , 17.17.
