(1) Ps. 22.16-17 – For dogs encompass me; a company of evildoers encircles me; they have pierced my hands and feet—[17] I can count all my bones— they stare and gloat over me. (2) Rev. 1.7 – Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen.

1. Joseph of Arimathea, 19.38

a. A secret disciple of Jesus because of fear of the Jews

(1) Matt. 27.57-60 – When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who also was a disciple of Jesus. [58] He went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate ordered it to be given to him. [59] And Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen shroud [60] and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had cut in the rock. And he rolled a great stone to the entrance of the tomb and went away. (2) Mark 15.42-43, 45-46 – And when evening had come, since it was the day of Preparation, that is, the day before the Sabbath, [43] Joseph of Arima thea, a respected member of the Council, who was also himself looking for the kingdom of God, took courage and went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. (3) Mark 15.45-46 – And when he learned from the centurion that he was dead, he granted the corpse to Joseph. [46] And Joseph bought a linen shroud, and taking him down, wrapped him in the linen shroud and laid him in a tomb that had been cut
