(2) Ps. 93.3-4 – The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their roaring. [4] Mightier than the thunders of many waters, mightier than the waves of the sea, the Lord on high is mighty!

4. Jesus’ assurance, and the end of the journey, 6.20-21

a. The boat’s arrival at its destination instantly appears to have no OT analogs, but sometimes the Holy Spirit carried prophets to destinations immediately (e.g., Ezek. 8.3; 11.24).

b. Jesus of Nazareth is Lord over creation: all things are subject to his will.

(1) Rom. 14.9 – For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living. (2) Heb. 1.3 – He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high (3) 1 Cor. 8.6 – yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.

(4) Col. 1.17 – And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
