b. In the future, the Romans would later misinterpret New Testament language about the Lord’s supper as cannibalism, i.e., “eating the body and blood of the Lord.”

2. Jesus’ shocking comeback: Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood you have no life in you , 6.53.

3. Whoever feeds on his flesh and drinks his blood has eternal life; the same abides in him and Jesus in them, he will raise him up on the last day, 6.54, 56.

4. “For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink,” 6.55.

5. As the living Father sent Jesus, and he lived because of the Father, so whoever feeds on Jesus will live because of him, 6.57.

6. Jesus said these things in the synagogue , as he taught at Capernaum, 6.59.
