C. Element 3: Assurance of Salvation

1. Now we have peace with God, Rom. 5.1-2; Eph. 2.13-14.

2. We have escaped the wrath to come, 1 Thess. 1.9-10; Rom. 5.8-9.

3. We are saved by grace through faith, Eph. 2.8-10; 2 Tim. 1.8-9.

4. Our sins have been forgiven, 1 John 1.7-9; Col. 1.13-14.

5. We now posses eternal life, 1 John 5.11-13; John 5.24.

D. Element 4: Baptism and New Life in Christ

1. Christ commands that we be baptized, Matt. 3.11; Mark 16.15-16.

2. We are united to Christ by faith in baptism, Col. 3.11; Gal. 2.20.

3. As he died, so we die with him, Rom. 6.3-4; Rom. 6.5-8.
