I could go on, but the point has been made that social justice is part of and not an empty void in my life. Now let me move into some rules of engagement for The Gospel and Evangelism. Metrics for an Apostolic Missions Platform – The Gospel Preparation for an Apostolic Missions Platform – Evangelism In the Great Commission (Matt. 28.19-20; John 20.21-23; Luke 24.46-48; Mark 16.15-16), in the mandate given by the Lord to His disciples, we find our directions for missions not in meeting endless needs, but in participating in God’s purpose to take back souls from the domain of darkness. The Church is to “Go” and keep moving forward into every square inch of this world where a soul has taken refuge and proclaim the gospel of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. Those who respond in obedient faith are to be made into disciples by baptizing them into God’s family and teaching them to obey everything of the kingdom domain that is required of children of the King. These baptized followers of the Lord Jesus become the fruit of a new church that raises God’s kingdom banner in their community. To get from “going” to “planted” here are several metrics for our Missions Plank, the Gospel, and our Missions Platform task, evangelism. 1. The Gospel Alone When assessing our church planters we must be convinced that they are convinced that the Gospel, and the Gospel alone, is the power of God to release souls that are bound in a Kingdom of Darkness and are also convinced that the person who responds in faith is then transferred “to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins” (Col. 1.13b-14). For the church planter it is not, “the Gospel plus something else.” For them, the Gospel can stand alone without any other help or aid.
