No Reserves No Retreat No Regrets

2. Wave style is completely vulnerable to whatever wind gusts are blowing; it is virtually impossible to navigate on waves that are being tossed around. (Cf. Eph. 4.14-15 – so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. [15] Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.) Spike style , however, does not move or bend. Its glory is to stay where it is put and never turn loose of its spot, for anything! (Ps. 125.1 – Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever.)

Let God have your life today – all of it that’s left.

Let God have your life; He can do more with it than you can.

~ Dwight L. Moody

The man or woman who is wholly or joyously surrendered to Christ can’t make a wrong choice – any choice will be the right one.

~ A. W. Tozer

You become stronger only when you become weaker. When you surrender your will to God, you discover the resources to do what God requires. ~ Erwin Lutzer

3. Wave style is always being affected by stuff, and is therefore unstable, doubting, flitting, floating, exhausted from being blown around. (James 1.6-8 – But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. [7] For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; [8] he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.) Spike style is firmly planted and refuses to turn back; it would rather be broken than turned around. (“I ain’t go let nobody turn me ‘round, turn me ‘round, turn me ‘round . . .”)
