Take a moment and pray before reading the following passage. Pray that God will open your heart and mind to the truth of his Word. If you have time, read the passage more than once—underlining things that stand out to you. “Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.” 1 Peter 3.8-9 Powerful and marvelous God, I come before you knowing that you are my God, without you I am nothing, and without your help I cannot do anything. Lord help us live according to your will. Help us understand that we are all brothers and sisters who are not here to compete with one another but to love and help each other. Dear God, please take away all ego and selfishness, and help me put my brothers and sisters before myself. I pray that our desire is to be a blessing to somebody each and every day of our lives. In your holy name, I pray. Amen.
