Day 1

Take a moment and pray before reading the following passage. Pray that God will open your heart and mind to the truth of his Word. If you have time, read the passage more than once—underlining things that stand out to you. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” 2 Corinthians 5.17-20 O sovereign Father, creator of heaven, earth and all of existence, I come before you recognizing you as my God and Lord. Eternal God, thank you for the perfect sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross, giving us the opportunity to be your children and new creatures who can leave our past behind and keep moving forward. Father, teach us, help us to truly value your sacrifice and truthfully live as ambassadors of your Kingdom here on earth. You are our strength. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
