Afterword By this point you have probably read through The Pursuit of God in its entirety, and very possibly also considered some of the discussion questions posed in this edition. You are to be commended for the effort you have invested. But now it is time to move on in your life. As you step away from Tozer’s little book, what will you take from your investment in it? It is worth pondering this question. Otherwise, the wisdom contained in this book may all too quickly fade from consciousness, and in a surprisingly brief amount of time become forgotten altogether. Its insights could all slide away like water off a duck. The older saints well understood this risk. They countered it with a spiritual discipline they called recollection. It is the practice of reviewing in our minds what we have recently studied or experienced, and then inviting the
