Take a moment and pray before reading the following passage. Pray that God will open your heart and mind to the truth of his Word. If you have time, read the passage more than once—underlining things that stand out to you. “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2.9 Heavenly Father, thank you for your light. Lord, we love you for saving us from the darkness and ushering us into being a community of people that are part of a greater family. Lord, continue to refine us to be the people that you created us to be, people of royalty and people that were chosen to be your representatives in this world. For that, Lord, we say thank you! It is in Jesus’ name that we pray. Amen.
